3/25/2017 We Believe We Are ImportantMeditation Romans 5:8—But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! 1 John 4:10,11—Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. He doesn’t believe he’s important. It all began with a lie,
A father who told him “You’re worthless!”; a mother who rolled her eyes. He grew up in life always striving, doing his best to achieve Hoping that someday they’d notice and tell him how proud and how pleased . . . No, that’s a wish for a fountain in the middle of desert sand, That’s hoping to really matter—when what really matters at all? The hurt like a cancer keeps growing, painfully laying its blame. He sits with his hands on his forehead, trying his best to explain. She doesn’t believe she’s important, starting young with an uncle. He took her inside every weekend saying she was his darling. She knew what he did was wrong and she cried in pain to her parents. But they accused her of lying, said surely, she was the villain. She wanted so bad to be loved that she grew up loving the bad, Desperately after attention, wanting so hard to be seen. Life became filled with rejection, living—a most terrible dream. Unsure then of whom she could trust, she hid behind walls that she made. They don’t believe they’re important. Each chest has inside it a hole. Wishing that something would fill it; alas never finding a cure. Wandering one soul to another, searching for someone to care, That is the crux of the problem, they’re stuck in the land of despair. Only One can remove deception, the One their own kind destroyed. The One who took on their evil and from deepest sorrow arose. Only One who knew He had meaning and trusted His Father’s love Could offer the lost redemption and transform their hole-heavy hearts. We believe we’re important and we know what it means to be saved, Spared from the hell of destruction and healed by the giving of grace. Not worthy of heaven’s favor, unearned by our merit or deeds, Love flows from the hands of the Father through holes in the wrists of His Son. It’s time that the lie of the devil charging that we are no good Be exposed on the highest mountains, be quenched in valleys of ill. For God proves His own love for us while we were still lowly sinners Through Jesus we’re justified yes, and totally cleansed by His blood. ©2017 Daniel York ARR.
