Twitter Lies

​Operation Guardian is an exercise designed for selected Army units to practice search and rescue, decontamination, life-saving skills, convoy movement and set up and tear down of portable equipment.  I had the opportunity to watch my soldiers train in Florida and Georgia.  When I arrived in Ocala my staff briefed me that there were civilians seeking admittance to our training who were spreading reports that the exercise was a staging operation to bring in foreign occupation troops and remove American freedoms.  

Why do people believe such loony theories?  We allowed two “journalists” to cover what we were doing—providing full access so that they would see that we were actually conducting training and there were no foreign invaders.  Still they distorted the truth.  They took pictures and falsely labeled them to make their case seem credible and created a media firestorm with all kinds of rumors—Twitter lies!

Matthew 22:29—Jesus answered them, “You are deceived, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God.”
 
Jesus was open and transparent in all He did.  Publically He proclaimed God’s Word, healed the sick, cast out demons and powerfully proved that He was the Son of God.  Yet, many of the religious leaders insisted He was a fraud; accused Him of receiving His power from Satan; and, did all they could to discredit Him.  As we know, eventually they crucified Him to preserve their authority.

Repeatedly Jesus revealed the religious leaders’ spiritual ignorance. They failed to discern Old Testament prophesies He fulfilled as proof that He was the Messiah.  Many of them memorized vast portions of scripture yet still missed the Messiah. In truth, their blind ambition led them down a path that could only further earthly agendas.

Whenever you encounter people who insist on propagating lies and who refuse to be enlightened by what is clear and transparent, don’t be discouraged.  I have listened to people teach that God no longer works miracles by insisting that supernatural work ended with the death of the Apostles. They refuse to acknowledge God’s healing work present around them—preferring to find rational explanations.   Do they really think the force of human reason casts out demons or that healings are all fake?

​God offers no excuse for spiritual ignorance.  And we know that deception has a most twisted father—Lucifer.  He deceived Eve and Adam and in so doing diseased the entire human race.  He was the original conspirator and his handiwork won’t stop until he is chained, bound and thrown into hell.  Don’t take his bait and don’t rely on your own understanding. The better you know Scripture, the better you know your Father’s power.
