The new Mary was unsurprised when the owner of the delinquent company called her. First, he thanked her for the patience and grace she extended. Second, not only would they pay their debt, but they had received a huge contract and decided to fill it using Mary’s help exclusively. It would be the largest contract Mary had ever filled. The Lord will provide.
Meditation Genesis 22:14—And Abraham named that place The LORD will Provide [Yahweh-yireh], so today it is said: “It will be provided on the LORD’s mountain.” God asked Abraham to do the unthinkable, unfathomable, and unbelievable. He was to sacrifice his son Isaac on an altar to test his faith. As he raised the knife in the air with which to kill his son, an angel intervened and relayed that God understood that he feared Him and because he did not withhold his beloved son, He swore an oath, “Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son [from Me], I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gates of their enemies. And all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring because you have obeyed My command” (22:16-18). God did not want Isaac dead; He wanted to see what faith Abraham possessed. Immediately He provided a ram caught in the thicket by its horns to serve as the appropriate sacrifice. This story conveys a remarkable truth for all who, in faith, follow God. Yahweh-yireh—the LORD will provide! Are you struggling to pay bills—frustrated with stress and anxiety? Are you tired of trying to muster strength in the face of protracted illness? Listen to the new Mary. Worry and fear are the tools of a broken workshop. Pick up faith—believe that the same God who made you is dedicated to blessing you. Be patient in suffering and brave in the face of adversity. As you trust the Lord, He will meet your need in ways beyond what you could have imagined. Like the new Mary, you’ll have a great testimony to share with others who struggle. Thank you Dan, I am humbled to be a participant in Reveration - God's provisioning goes so far beyond what our eyes can see and He will teach you so much. But when we look through His lens or stop trying to control outcomes and wait and watch - not only does He provide but we grow. Stand back and watch Him and one cannot help but learn and be blessed! And remember sometimes (more often than not) the answers and solutions He provides usually do not look like what you thought they would.
