In 2004, he was hit by a car while driving his motorcycle and flew in the air 30 meters. He spent four days in a coma and could not walk for a year and half. Still he searched for truth. Then in 2008, while watching television, his remote control froze on a Christian station and the person on the program described Oscar’s vision, which caused him to weep and to recognize that Jesus was his Savior and the Lord he needed to follow.
In 2010, Oscar moved to Cancun. Three years later he met his wife Queta at a Mundo de Fe church. I asked Oscar what his favorite Bible passage is and he answered Romans 8:28—“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.” His advice for us is that we love Jesus unconditionally because He is always faithful and we won’t regret a single day. He is so perfect and meticulous. Meditation Acts 10:3--About three in the afternoon he distinctly saw in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius!” God often speaks to people in visions. He may use them to bring people to salvation, to provide instruction, to warn, or to encourage. Because of the generational atheism that ran strong in Oscar’s family, God directly acted to break the chain and bring him to a place where he could honestly search for Him. Oscar was a blessing to me as my translator in Cancun. As I observed the love for Jesus in his life I was blessed, but also challenged, to be more persistent in praying for people who resist the gospel. God can and does reveal Himself in awesome ways. Why not pray that He would provide the vision needed to help someone lost break through the fog of disbelief? Inspiration When God wants to drill a man, and thrill a man, and skill a man, When God wants to mold a man, to play the noblest part; When He yearns with all his heart, to create so great and bold a man, That all the world shall be amazed. Watch His methods, watch His ways! How He ruthlessly perfects whom He royally elects! How He hammers him and hurts him, and with mighty blows converts him, Into trial shapes of clay which only God understands; While his tortured heart is crying, and he lifts beseeching hands; How He bends but never breaks, when his good He undertakes; How He uses whom He chooses, and with every purpose fuses him; By every act induces him, to try His splendor out God knows what He's about.—Author Unknown ©2019 Daniel York ARR.
