There was no hesitation on my part. I did not have a hidden agenda. I did not doubt, selfishly considering other options. I was not critical of Dad for teaching an absolute solution, nor did I feel coerced or compelled to follow his appeal—as if he would punish me if I said no. I did not wonder what the other kids on our block might think of me. I was four. I wanted to follow the Lord my daddy loved. I have never regretted that decision or turned away from trusting God—it was the best decision of my life. So, yes, I can relate very well to the little kids who wanted to sit in the Messiah’s lap, and it makes me sad how easily adults, in their sophisticated pride, reject the Lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world and give them everlasting life in His awesome presence.
Meditation Mark 10:15-16—“I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” After taking them in His arms, He laid His hands on them and blessed them. How does a little child welcome the kingdom of God? With joyful eagerness. With innocent trust. With a simple love. With a heart to please. With contagious gratitude. Something to think about . . . in reveration! Dan, I spent many days at your home there in Okinawa, one day I watched you while your mom and dad went out for a while. I was a very young Christian and your dad was my spiritual father and gave me much time in Bible Study and just showing me how to live the Christian Life. He came to Onna Point and helped me get a Bible Study started. I was and still am blessed by your dad's life.
