Psalm 117:1,2--Praise the Lord, all nations! Glorify Him, all peoples! For His faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Hallelujah! Giving glory to God is life-changing. For a good reason, the Bible commends all people to glorify Him. First, it reminds our hearts that He forever loves us faithfully and possesses incredible attributes and qualities He bestows upon us. Knowing this improves our attitude, bolsters our confidence, increases our resiliency, and helps set our course on pleasing Him. Second, giving God glory takes the focus off of us and places it on our Creator. We cannot save anyone or ourselves from evil and death—He can do both. We are flawed. He is perfect. We are selfish by nature. He can transform our nature into the way He designed us for eternity. Any self-focused life is destined for disappointment and failure. Any life devoted to God will be rewarded beyond our wildest imagination. Here are five ways to glorify God: · Recognize in Scripture God-glorifying truths and share them with Him as praise offerings. · Observe what He is doing around us and thank Him. (Journal pages 10 and 11 are filling up with things for which to be thankful). · Testify to others about our awesome Father. · Do our best in our attitude and conduct so that He is pleased and honored. · Avoid sin and anything that displeases Him. God-glorifying people are not hard to spot. No matter what they are going through, their life is characterized by gratitude. Something to think about and emulate . . . in reveration.
