3/5/2018 Escaping DeceptionSam Daniels (not his real name) was a diehard Muslim born in Damascus, Syria to a devoted and committed Muslim middle-class family. Sam in his youth memorized the entire Quran. He graduated from a university in England as a civil engineer in 1987, and eventually found work in the United States, yet, despite every achievement he accomplished, he never had any lasting satisfaction. In 2014, Sam lost the entire vision in his left eye. Doctors diagnosed his condition as shingles to the optic nerve but his condition deteriorated so rapidly and he was in such pain that he was admitted to the University of Michigan’s hospital. Sam writes, “I slept on my right side and cried my heart out to Allah to take me as I had enough pain physically and emotionally . . . I was simply done.”[1] While praying to Allah, an extremely bright light came into the room. Sam thought it a doctor coming to check on him but it was the Lord Jesus. Jesus lovingly revealed to Sam that He was the true and only Messiah. You can read about his incredible encounter with Christ in his book From Deception To The Truth From Allah To God(available on Amazon.com).
I met Sam and was impressed by his faith in the Lord and by his fearless zeal (despite constant death threats) to rescue Muslims from the false teaching of Islam. Sam clearly lays out a powerful case that exposes the Quran and the false teachings of Islam. He powerfully demonstrates how Allah is not God, how the Quran is not from God, and how Mohammed had nothing to do with Yahweh. While the book is not well-edited, it is still a powerful tool for a Christian to have to become well-versed in the falsehoods of Islam as well as to provide a tool to present to Muslims seeking truth. Meditation Psalm 68:20—Our God is a God of salvation, and escape from death belongs to the Lord God. Satan is a great deceiver. His intent was revealed in the garden when he lied to Eve. Truly one of his masterpieces is the fear and bondage he has created through Islamic teachings. According to Pew research, “There were 1.8 billionMuslims in the world as of 2015–roughly 24% of the global population . . . But while Islam is currently the world's second-largest religion (after Christianity), it is the fastest-growing major religion.”[2] We ought to be fervent in praying that God opens the eyes of those (like Sam) who are blinded and that they may escape deception. We should not be afraid to meet and to love those who are Muslims so as to model the truth that we have in Jesus. What He has done in our lives, He can surely do in their lives, for His glory! Inspiration Jesus is a very important person to Muslims. He is noted as the only sinless prophet of Islam and mentioned over eighty times in the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam . . . But within Islam, He is not equivalent to God, nor was He crucified.—Carl Medearis in Speaking of Jesus ©2018 Daniel York ARR. Reveration is the weekly devotional ministry of First Cause.
