7/13/2013 0 Comments Build Me a GrandsonMy mother wrote a prayer for me called “Build Me a Son.” It is a prayer that still inspires me and one that God honors. On July 12,2013, our grandson Jadon celebrated his first birthday. Kathleen and I are grateful that our children love God and that our daughter Sarah and son-in-law Mark will share His love with their son. While the family gathered in Bend to celebrate this milestone, I missed Jadon’s birthday because of Army duty. Ironically, I am in the place where I was born, Colorado Springs. So by the Rocky Mountains I reach to heaven with this new prayer of blessing. Heavenly Father build me a grandson who loves You with all his heart, mind, soul and strength.
Build me a grandson who lives for Your glory and shares Your story. Build me a grandson who puts You before relationships, ministry, work, prestige, possessions or power. Build me a grandson who treasures Your Word, seeks Your wisdom and is discerning. Build me a grandson who measures life by the thrill of Your presence. Build me a grandson grateful for Your faithfulness and aware of Your grace. Build me a grandson in whom You have forged the attributes of:
