Philippians 1:27--Just one thing: Live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, working side by side for the faith that comes from the gospel.

Romans 14:10-12--But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the tribunal of God. For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to Me, and every tongue will give praise to God. So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. 11/4/1997 0 Comments RightsWelcome to the age of authoritarianism. Can you pick up a newspaper without finding some new intrusion by politicians or activists who would attempt to further regulate what you can and cannot do? I fear that many of us are caught in the adrenaline rush to be right, to be treated in a certain manner, and to be left alone by an overbearing big brother. Are we becoming increasingly preoccupied with the fear of living in a society ever more hostile to our faith?

Evidently, I was in her blind spot. I slammed on the brakes while at the same time maneuvering as quickly as possible to get around her car. Somehow, we avoiding colliding and both continued on our way. It would have been easy to get angry (it happened too fast to honk!), and to mutter about incompetent drivers but why? I know what it’s like not to see someone in the other lane and just miss kissing metal! The antidote to that simple driving mistake is to add an extra mirror or take the time to turn my head and look for another vehicle.

On that form each individual rated what kind of personal devotion time he or she was getting with God. The scale ranged from nonexistent--‘0’ to consistent time with the Lord—‘10’. Eighty-six percent of those who turned in response forms inconsistently set aside time to meet with the Lord.

Ezekiel 4:9--Also take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt. Put them in a single container and make them into bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the number of days you lie on your side, 390 days. 2/1/1997 0 Comments Baptism of the Holy SpiritMeditation
Acts 2:38—“Repent,” Peter said to them, “and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." |
