Meditation
Psalm 32:8--I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel. Long after David penned Psalm 32, the prophet Isaiah quoted God: “This is what the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: I am Yahweh your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who leads you in the way you should go” (Isa. 48:17). God takes care of His children. He shows you how you should go because that’s what a loving Father does. Counselors may give you good advice with your best interest at heart. They may have researched and used thoughtful reasoning to help you. But always, go first to God to seek His leading—just as He has His eye on you, so your eyes need to be on Him. He may steer you in a different direction than conventional guidance. When God gives you counsel, He knows your needs and what you should do. He sees your heart, understands your fears, and determines what is best for your growth. His instruction is personalized and tailored for your benefit—even if it requires sacrifice and suffering. John did not know that the money he and his wife gave Steph would return to him years later through a relative who unexpectedly died and left them enough funds to retire their debt. God knew. When you trust Him, He teaches you lessons you would have missed had you not listened. Don’t be surprised when the Lord unconventionally leads you. Remember that His eyes are on you, and He perfectly instructs for your betterment and His glory—something to think about . . . in reveration. Inspiration “We can never learn too much of His will towards us, too much of His messages and His advice. The Bible is His word and its study gives at once the foundation for our faith and an inspiration to battle onward in the fight against the tempter.”—John D. Rockefeller ©2024 Daniel York ARR.
