Roberta had a taxi driver who routinely brought her to work. After three days of driving her, the man said to Roberta, “What’s happened to you, you seem different?” Roberta replied, “If you got rid of something you’d carried for 18 years, you would be different too.” She then shared about her new faith. Twenty-one years later, she still shares the miracle of Jesus changing her life.
Meditation Mark 2:12—Immediately he got up, picked up the mat, and went out in front of everyone. As a result, they were all astounded and gave glory to God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” Jesus healed a paralytic man whose four friends lowered him on a mat from a hole they made in the roof to put him in front of the Messiah in an overcrowded house. When the Lord saw the man’s faith, He said to him, “Son, your sins are forgiven” (vs. 5). That caused the religious leaders to accuse Him of blaspheming for doing something only God could do. But so that they might know His authority, Jesus healed the man. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John record incredible miracles by Jesus healing people, raising them from the dead, casting out demons, changing water to wine, commanding the weather, walking on water, etc. The book of Acts recounts miraculous stories of the Apostles used by God as healing agents. I’ve seen in my own life God expel demons from people, my oldest son, Bryan, healed from an inoperable and fatal tumor on his brain-stem, lives transformed by the healing power of God, inexplicable miracles with equipment and weather in response to prayers of faith. Trusting Jesus gives us the ability and experience to emphatically say, “We have never seen anything like this!” again and again—something to think about . . . in reveration. Inspiration “Before a miracle can be perceived as a miracle, the existence of God must be established first. It is the existence of God that makes miracles possible in the first place.”—RC Sproul in The Glory of Christ ©2024 Daniel York ARR. Reveration is the weekly devotional ministry of First Cause.
