6/30/2000 0 Comments ViewsDriving Highway 101 from Fort Hunter Liggett to San Jose, I experienced an epiphany. Whoa was it a boat rocker! It came via a clever California license plate in front of me--WIZDUMB. It caused me to reflect on the two kinds of wisdom that exist. Wisdom= Understanding of truth as revealed by the Holy Spirit. True insight when applied by we humans which leads to awesome living.
Wizdumb= Understanding of truth as revealed by human thought that is ignorant or disdainful of God’s revelation. Earthly insight originates from imperfect minds with the result that every wiz ends up being very dumb! I’m indebted to the owner of that car in front of me for the spiritual wake-up. I don’t want to go through any day without relying on God! I don’t want to pretend my self-propelled thoughts and views are sufficient for successful living. Wizdumb is choosing my thoughts over His thoughts and I personally am never thrilled with the results. That’s why I’d be honored if you would pray for me what the Apostle Paul prayed for the Christians in Ephesus: “ I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him” (Ephesians 1: 17). I’ll do the same for you! May our views be His view! Meditation 1 Corinthians 3:19,20--For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, since it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness; and again, The Lord knows that the reasonings of the wise are meaningless. Inspiration If Jesus Christ is not revealed to us, it is because we have views of our own, and we want to bend everything to those views. To realize Christ we must come to Him.—Oswald Chambers in Making All Things New ©2000 Daniel York ARR. Reveration is the weekly devotional ministry of First Cause.
